Back at It!

2 months ago, I celebrated our 2-month birthday, and then our blog went dark for 2 months. Oh, the irony 😛 Despite this, we’ve noticed that we’ve still gotten views in these last few months, and we just crossed 500 in total 😀

Regardless, we’re going back at it. Many of our contributors had been preoccupied with standardized test prep and extracurricular activities, but we’re finally back on track. And just in time: regardless of whoever wins on Tuesday’s election, we’re going to have a lot to talk about.

We hope you stay tuned with this blog; you might just find something that piques your interest 😀

His Trump Card

I grope around the floor of the pitch-black dungeon of a house, pricking my finger on something sharp and protruding.

Knees trembling, I slowly rise from the ground, tactilely scanning the wall for a light switch. I hear a small click!, and the room is drowned with light. After blinking my irritated eyes for a few seconds, I crane my neck to get a better view of the room.

As I suck on my nicked finger, I see a piece of paper resting on a mat, covered in my blood. I kneel beside it to get a closer look; it seems to be a bankruptcy document of some sort.

Voting Rights in the USA: An Overview

Early voting starts in several states in the next month, but some people may find themselves unable to vote at all!

vote_2016

In this shorter segment, we’ll analyze Voter ID Laws, their controversial aspects, and their impact on the general election (please note the primary elections are much more overt in their voting mechanism; we can perhaps tackle it later).

The British Empire at its peak- where the Sun Never Set.

Real Talk: Urbanization & Politics

Fancy title, but it’s quite evident now that cities trend blue, rural area trends red, and Suburbia is somewhere in between (mostly blue, but there is red sometimes).

2012 president

Here’s the 2012 election map. Rural states like Kansas and Nebraska are almost completely red while the urban areas of New York (NYC) and California (LA, San Francisco, etc.) are filled blue. This article is an analysis of the correlation between urbanization and election results in politics.

The DNC’s least favorite word – From the Perspective of a Ex-Bernie Supporter

Email.

It’s an important part of every day personal and professional life – or it was, until messenger apps came along. But still, everyone, from an elementary school teacher to the President of the United States uses an email service to communicate with their colleagues and friends.

This election cycle, however, after a bruising primary, the last thing the party needed was another conflict between the now official nominee Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders supporters. Heading into the convention on the heels of Sen. Sanders’s endorsement of Clinton, it seemed that the convention might just have been the coronation ceremony Hillary was looking forward to.

Hillary-Bernie

Unfortunately, just like Hillary’s State Department email investigation haunted her throughout the primary, another specter would haunt the 2016 Democratic National Convention – the party’s emails.

A Mini Review of the 2016 Dem Primaries From a Hillary Fan’s Perspective

Hillary Clinton is now officially the Democratic Nominee for President of the United States and Democrats rallied around her today, with Bernie Sanders ending the roll-call vote in a pronouncement of unity. Yet, from what we saw yesterday, party unity seemed at an all time low. Let us reconsider once more that Hillary Clinton is the first female nominee for POTUS of any major political party. This should be a celebration, not a conflict between two groups.

The thoughts and opinions below are solely of my opinion on the past couple of months in the primary season as well as the ongoing DNC Email Scandal.

Recap: The Political Landscape

This weekend has brought us some interesting turnabouts in our political scene. Yes, DJT was at his Twitter wars and making fights with Sen. Cruz once more, but now the eyes were all on the Democrats as they proceed to their Democratic National Convention starting tomorrow.

Revelation 1: Clinton-Kaine 2016
